ONE CENTURY: Portraits of centenarians and the activities that bring them joy.
ONE CENTURY: Portraits of centenarians and the activities that bring them joy.
ONE CENTURY is more than a photography project; it is a celebration of the human spirit. Through these images, I want to inspire viewers to appreciate the beauty of aging.
Many centenarians engage in activities that promote physical and mental stimulation. Some enjoy gardening or swimming. Others find solace in creative pursuits like music, painting or writing.
In essence, centenarians demonstrate the importance of staying active, curious and socially connected throughout life.

Reviews
"Congratulations Valérie, what a wonderful record of lives lived to the full! Capturing what they enjoyed and including their hands really resonated with me, as I have a few photographs of my grandparents I took in my late teens also capturing them in their leisure time I could so easily relate to your so beautifully captured project." David Pottinger
"This is an incredibly important photo project I feel, for both Valerie and the subject. I've been privileged to talk with Valerie as it's taken shape across the year. Much hard work and love has gone into Valerie's book - it's wonderful to see it now available.” Neale James
“What a beautiful tribute to those men and women who are such survivors!” Anne Keyser
