MEXICO CITY 5-Day Street Photography Workshop February 23-27, 2025
Cost of the workshop: $2,850. $500 Deposit is due at registration checkout.
The workshop will be based in the traditional neighborhood of Coyoacán, known for its cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, artisan markets and sidewalk cafés. Coyoacán is also the place where Frida Kahlo spent most of her life. For this workshop Valérie will be accompanied by local expert Luis who will take us to a variety of locations where you will be able to practice many street photography techniques while enjoying all the cultural aspects of life in Mexico city. This 5-day street photography workshop is packed with hands-on learning as well as classroom time. Valérie is present on every photo walk and always available for 1:1 attention when you need it. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced photographer, she will help you capture the types of photographs you are aiming for and give you an inspiration boost to practice new techniques.
Best of all, you will enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded people from all over the world. Workshops are limited to 10 participants. Although accommodations are not included in the tuition. Participants will receive hotel recommendations in charming boutique hotels near the classroom space.
Day 1: We will start out in the classroom with a presentation during which we will discuss the different ways to approach street photography. We will go over the ethical aspect of this popular genre of photography, the do's & don'ts and how to get over the fear of photographing strangers in the streets. From candid shots to street portraits, we will look at techniques to make strong storytelling photographs.
Immediately following the presentation we will go on a photo walk to practice newly learned techniques.
Day 2: Full day on the streets for hands-on learning.
Day 3: Morning and afternoon 1:1 review sessions
Day 4: Full day on the streets for hands-on learning.
Day 5: The day will start with a photo walk and end in the classroom with a final group presentation.

GEAR:
I encourage participants to shoot with gear that they are very familiar with. Comfort is also important as we will be walking for a few hours.
TERM & CONDITIONS:
All registrations are accepted in the order received.
Early registration is strongly suggested since there are limited spaces available.
Eligibility: Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire journey.

Payment, cancellation, and refunds:
A $500 deposit is due at registration to reserve a spot for the photo workshop. The Balance will be invoiced 120 days prior to the event.
If you are unable or you choose to no longer attend the photo workshop, the following will apply:
120 or more days prior to the beginning of the workshop: The deposit is non-refundable.
Less than 120 days prior to the workshop: No refund. However, if there is a waiting list and we are able to fill your spot at the last minute, your tuition may be applied towards another photo adventure within a year. An administrative fee of $500 will be applied.
Cancelation notification is accepted by email.
Leaving a workshop in progress, for any reason, will not result in a refund.
We reserve the right to cancel a workshop because of an inadequate number of participants making the workshop economically infeasible to operate. In the event that a workshop is canceled prior to departure, you will receive a full refund of the cost of the workshop.

Valerie Jardin Photography, Inc shall not be held responsible for (A) any damage to, or loss of, property or injury to, or death of, persons occasioned directly or indirectly by an act or omission of any other provider, and (B) any loss or damage due to delay, cancellation, or disruption in any manner caused by the laws, regulations, acts or failures to act, demands, orders, or interpositions of any government, or by acts of nature, strikes, fire, flood, war, terrorism, sickness, theft, or any other cause(s) beyond their control. The participant waives any claim against Valerie Jardin Photography, Inc. for any such loss, damage, injury, or death. Valerie Jardin Photography, Inc. reserves the right in their sole discretion to accept, decline to accept or remove any participant on any photo workshop. Valerie Jardin Photography, Inc. reserves the right, without penalty, to make changes in the itinerary whenever, in their judgment, conditions warrants, or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience, or safety of participants. You have assumed the responsibility to select an activity appropriate to your physical abilities and interests. You are personally responsible for being in sufficiently good health to undertake the activity.
