Hit The Streets 38: Chasing Dreams with Iwona Pinkowicz

Valerie Jardin June 8, 2017

My guest today is Iwona Pinkowicz. She tells us about her street portrait project 'chasing Dreams' as well as her own dreams in her pursuit of being a full time photographer. Take a listen by clicking on the player above or find is on iTunes and Google Play.

Who is Iwona?

My name is Iwona Pinkowicz and I’m a storytelling and portrait photographer based in London. Originally from Przemysl, a small picturesque town in South East Poland, I moved to London at the age of 19 and have been calling this beautifully diverse city home for the past 15 years. I currently live in central London with my loving husband Greg.

My journey with photography began just over three years ago. I originally started shooting street photography but quickly realised I didn’t want to be restricted by one genre.

One thing that was clear to me from the beginning was that I have a great passion for photographing people in different settings – be them at events, festivals, weddings or on the street. I have developed a strong ability to candidly capture moments filled with emotion by working with a variety of clients including leading events companies. My images have been featured by several international publications including the Evening Standard, Time Out, CNN Style, Lufthansa Magazine, Event Magazine and many others.

My work was also recently discovered by Glastonbury music festival and I have been invited to join their team to photograph the festival and its people in 2017.

I’m currently working on several projects including an ongoing exploration of my parents’ relationship in their elder years and a street portraits photobook.
