There is something wonderful about being an artist. Whether you're a musician, a photographer, a painter, a poet, or anything in between, you are NEVER 'there'. By 'there' I mean 'at the top of your game'.
Imagine if, as a photographer, you thought you had made your best photograph? It would be very sad. All that would be left for you to do is to hang the camera and never touch it again.
We never become experts in the craft, nor do we want to. We look back at the work we produced 2, 5 or 10 years ago and we are shocked, often embarrassed, that we ever thought it worth sharing to the world. But there is nothing embarrassing about it. It is important to recognize it as part of the process, the growth. The process is longer and harder for some than others but you can't skip steps. It takes time to hone your skills. Your time only runs out at the end of your life.
Enjoy every step of your creative journey!
