This week on Hit The Streets Valérie invites Dutch flight attendant and passionate photographer Wendy de Boer to talk about her on going project 'Shoot With A Local' and so much more!
Wendy has a boarder-less passion for traveling as well as photography. Her profession offers her the ultimate chance to combine those two. As a stewardess, Wendy de Boer flies all over the world and she spends most of her time abroad. There she meets local photographers and does “photo team ups” with them.
The local photographer and Wendy ‘hit the streets’ with their camera for one or two days. Wendy’s aim is to connect with local people all around the world and share her passion with likeminded people. Together they learn more about photography, culture and life. She funded an interesting project named; “Shoot with a local” and she documents those meetings in short videos. Over her shoulder you can have a look on how she teams up with these photographers, she shows his or her personality in relation to his or her photography style and she literally takes us with her on a journey to many different countries with the photo results included.
There is a message in her work; it’s about humanity and respect for other people and our environment. She connects, she inspires and and with her extreme high energy and enthusiasm she takes you to another world!
Many people have embraced her project “Shoot with a local” already. Photographers all over the world follow her on social media, support her, get inspired by her and are inviting her to do a photo team up with them as well.
Wendy is working hard to take her project to the “next” level. She hopes to be able to improve the quality of the recordings and produce more video and audio episodes. She is still looking for sponsors to fund the project and volunteers to help her build it while protecting “the soul” and “value” of this “Non Profit” initiative.
For more info, find her on social media, her website or on YouTube!
