This week my guest is Portland based cinematographer Kevin Fletcher. We talk about the life of a cinematographer and his still photography project based in Portland, OR titled Avenue of Roses.
BIO
Kevin Fletcher is an internationally recognized cinematographer and photographer. His motion narrative projects include the independent feature “Selfless” and the short films “Autopsy” and “The Manual”, which have played in numerous film festivals garnering multiple awards, including Best Cinematography. His award-winning commercial projects include work for clients such as Netflix, Audi, Stella Artois, Nike, Old Spice and Adidas, to name just a few. His photo series “Avenue of Roses” was the 1st place winner in the 2020 LensCulture Street Photography awards. “Coupe du Monde”, a series shot in Paris, was selected as a 2019 LensCulture Street Photography awards finalist, and is currently avail for viewing in the drawers at Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon. At present, Fletcher has wrapped cinematography on a comedic film project titled “M*ther****er” and has embarked on his next photo series with the working title “American Anamorphosis” – a project which more directly ties his motion and still image making processes.
Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR and received his MFA in Photography and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon.
